About Me

Time, Craftsmanship, and Community

I believe that truly beautiful things take time.

Mastering a skill requires patience, and creating something by hand is an investment of energy and care. That philosophy is at the heart of everything I make.

For years, I struggled with the limited costume options available for LARP, especially as a 5ft tall woman who rarely fitted into off-the-peg designs. I had no choice but to learn how to make my own costumes, balancing historical accuracy with practical wearability and affordability.

Drawing on my background in art history, I immersed myself in research, studying paintings, sculptures, and extant garments to understand historical construction methods. I’ve spent countless hours in museums and galleries, with the Victoria and Albert Museum being one of my favourite sources of inspiration.

By 2017, after numerous requests from friends to make costumes for them, I decided to open my Etsy shop. I set a few guiding principles for myself:

Quality First
Every piece I create is designed to last. I believe that costumes should not only look good but also feel good to wear. That means using high-quality materials, ensuring that the inside of the garment is as well-finished as the outside, and hand-sewing details when necessary.

Fair Pay for Fair Work
I’ve seen too many talented makers in the LARP community undervalue their work. After speaking with fellow artisans, I developed a pricing model that ensures I am paid fairly for my time and skill while still being reasonable for my customers.

Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing
I prioritise natural fibres, responsibly sourced materials, and, where possible, use deadstock fabrics to reduce waste. I also aim to create long-lasting garments, steering away from fast fashion practices, and repurpose fabric scraps whenever I can.

Authenticity & Research-Driven Design
My costumes are deeply rooted in historical research while remaining functional for fantasy settings. I take inspiration from real-world construction methods, museum collections, and period artwork to create designs that feel immersive and believable.

Inclusivity & Custom Fit
Not everyone fits into standard sizes, and I know that firsthand. My designs consider different body shapes and sizes, ensuring that LARPers of all kinds can have costumes that fit comfortably and allow for full movement in gameplay.

Handcrafted & Small-Batch Production
Everything in my shop is made by hand, in small batches, with care and attention to detail. I don’t mass-produce my work because I believe in slow, intentional craftsmanship over speed and volume.

Community & Supporting Other Makers
I’m part of a larger network of artisans and traders in the LARP community, and I believe in uplifting fellow makers. I love educating customers on the work that goes into handmade costumes and advocating for sustainable, fair business practices in the industry.

Every piece I create is made with care, passion, and respect for the craftsmanship of the past, designed for LARPers who value authenticity, functionality, and artistry.
